As a Foreign Currency Account holder, we would like to introduce you to yet another first from FNB – Multi Currency Accounts, which offer you the freedom to manage your own foreign currency investments online, where and whenever you prefer!

These benefits include:

	Make international payments (payments of funds into and out of your Multi Currency Accounts) from the convenience of your home via FNB Online Banking
	Transfers between your Multi Currency Accounts
	Keep your incoming funds in foreign currency without the need to convert to Rands
	Convert from a foreign currency into Rands or from Rands into a foreign currency, when the rates are favorable to you
	Set up and manage offshore beneficiaries
	View balances and transaction history
	Hedge against currency risk

It is important to note that we are phasing out the current platform that your Foreign Currency Account (FCA) is housed on and we encourage you to open a new account via FNB Online Banking.

The functionality of the Multi Currency Accounts enables you to easily invest in, and manage your foreign currency requirements. The online Multi Currency Accounts account opening process can be done in less than 3 minutes, and should you prefer for us to open the account on your behalf, we will gladly assist.

Option 1 – Opening the account yourself

Opening an FNB Multi Currency Account is quick, easy and you have the option to open a MCA when you login to your FNB Online Banking Profile on www.fnb.co.za and follow the step by step guides which are attached. Once your account is opened, e-mail mcarequest@fnb.co.za with your new Multi Currency Account details, and we will transfer the funds from your FCA account to your MCA account and close the FCA account on your behalf.

Option 2 – Allow us to assist you with the account opening and transfer

If you prefer FNB to open the new account and transfer the balance across to your new account, simply send an e-mail to mcarequest@fnb.co.za with the instruction to do so. We will inform you via e-mail that the account has been opened, the balance transferred and you will be given 2 months’ grace from account opening date to inform any third parties of the new account number before closing the old account.
